Summary: Set after the destruction of the Narada but before Enterprise makes it back to Earth. When she is finally released from her station, the events of the past two days catch up to Uhura with a vengeance. Beautiful look at the Vulcans’ loss through Uhura’s eyes.

“Braden knew all the stories. How his mom got pregnant right after high school, when she’d been going to go to the Academy, and then she didn’t go but she doesn’t regret it. He believed that, because they were all pretty happy, and he was a kid at the time and didn’t realise just how different she’d meant her life to be. He believed it after that, too, but in a different way.”
This story lists pairings but it’s not really about that. It’s really about one possible impact of Kirk’s wild youth from the POV of the son he doesn’t know. This is quite good and very unique among Trek reboot fic I’ve read.

Summary: The five times Jim Kirk Said I love you without actually saying the words, and the one time he actually said it. This story is a look at the people who matter to Kirk and it’s simply the sweetest. I literally said, “Awwwww,” out loud when I finished.

Penny desperately needs to save face in front of her ex, so Sheldon pretends to be her boyfriend. It’s like Three’s Company all up in here. Spot on character voices. I loved this story.

“Oh, thank you for that blindingly obvious diagnosis, Doctor Perky. I’ve forgotten the last seven years of my life and you think I have amnesia. Tell me, if I came to you without my head, how long would it take you to tell me I’d been decapitated?”
Ancient tech causes Rodney to lose the last seven years of his life. Seven years ago, he wasn’t the same person. Seven years ago, he wasn’t someone John would have wanted to know. This story is fantastic in its angst and emotion.
