Seeking knowledge, Hermione signs a contract with Professor Snape — and gets more than she bargained for. “‘Hermione,’ he said, voice surprisingly gentle; he must have knelt on the floor because he put his arms about her, pressing her head to his chest. ‘I do believe you can take my word for it that sometimes a course of action doesn’t appear wrong until after you’ve committed yourself.’”

“Through a Shattered Mirror” from Snape’s POV.

Hagrid’s hut becomes a haven. “The first time he’d opened that door, five years ago, to that blood-soaked, trembling figure–he’d never thought of the consequences.”

This is the first and only Moody/Shacklebolt story I’ve read and I was blown away. It’s plot driven, believable, and a unique perspective on canon events. Regardless of whether you’ve given this rare pair previous consideration, The Turning of the Tide is well worth you time. Brilliant story.

“He shouldn’t be seeing this, Severus knows at once.” In these two stories, I love how cruisedirector captures the intials hints of Lucius’ ability to manipulate and captivate as well as Snape’s complete and utter innocence that we know will be lost, in harsh manner, in the not so distance future.

It feels odd to call a story this powerful, “lovely,” but it was. Such a forceful and raw story works best when the author is able to capture everything behind it and Femme did that beautifully.

Snape is determined to keep Draco Malfoy from becoming a Death Eater. Harry is witness to the consequences.
This Living Hand
When Harry falls into the hands of the Death Eaters, he learns that life isn’t as black-and-white as he’d once thought it to be. Warnings are here. Give this one a chance. Rushlight does an excellent job getting into Harry’s head as he tries to accept his situation and, although it’s not from Snape’s POV, it’s a portrait of Snape that I enjoy very much and can believe easily.

Some people don’t want to be saved. And some people can’t be. That doesn’t stop Hermione from trying. Remus and Hermione are deliciously and painfully in character.

“After months of believing that he would never dream again, Draco Malfoy dreams of Severus Snape’s pornographic hands.” Witty and sharp, this post-HBP story flows beautifully
