iron man: A Small and 100% Innocent Token of Gratitude by svilleficrecs (Tony/Pepper, NC-17)

This is all about seduction. I love Pepper’s voice and the slow build to inevitability.

sg-1: Of Fish and Flowers by whimsicalwhims (Jack/Daniel, Jack/Daniel/Cameron, PG-13)

This is a gorgeous, perfectly paced, snapshot in time. The fic takes place at Jack’s cabin and is layered with all the nuances you’d expect in a scenario that includes Jack, Daniel, and Cameron.

sga: Coming True by kass (McKay/Sheppard, R)

His step-mother was shaking her head. “Flight school costs money,” she said, “and we need to save every penny we have for your step-sisters’ dowries.” Written for sga_flashfic’s “Fairy Tale” challenge, this charming story is an SGA take on Cinderella. It’s absolutely adorable!

Coming True

sga: Romance at the Roadkill Grill by lamardeuse (McKay/Sheppard, NC-17)

AU! Rodney is a famous chef, forced to do a stint at the Roadkill Grill, and John is a local lobsterman. What else do I need to say??

Romance at the Roadkill Grill

sga: The First Pressing by Lacey McBain (McKay/Sheppard, NC-17)

John tries to tell himself that sex doesn’t mean anything, doesn’t bring with it some magic key to understanding the other person, but Rodney’s always read him better than anyone else, even before they started this silent fucking. It isn’t forgiveness, but it’s as close to comfort as John’s had in a long time, and he’ll take it because he needs it, needs something so he can keep going, put one foot in front of the other, even when there’s nothing but ashes and dust to walk on. But he can’t tell himself it’s anything other than getting by.

This story is all about what it means to live.

The First Pressing

spn: Mr. Right Next Door by causeways (Jared/Jensen, NC-17)

Small-town middle school teacher Jared Padalecki had fallen for a criminal while on a cruise, without a clue who she really was. Now he was home, waiting for her to contact him again, and undercover cop Jensen Ackles’ job was to track Padalecki’s every move. A harlequin AU. Just as much fun as you’d expect.

spn: Merrily On High by estrella (Jared/Jensen, NC-17)

I read this ages ago and was sure I’d rec’d it but, apparently not, but it’s never too late to rec J2 AU porn. Jensen is a bartender, Jared is a college student. And off we go!

bsg/dr. who: Life Enough by misscam (Doctor, Roslin, gen)

“You really should tell us who you are,” Laura Roslin says, and it’s the fifth time she has asked him. “The Doctor,” he says, and it’s the sixth time he’s told them that. Genocide. It really brings out the mistrust in humans, he considers, and wonders if it’s the same with Time Lords.

I can’t say enough about this story. The parallels drawn between the Doctor & Roslin, the Time Lords & Humans, are striking and the story resonates perfectly with the themes in the recently aired BSG episode, “Guess What’s Coming To Dinner.”

torchwood: Promotion by sam_storyteller (Ianto, gen)

Being useful is more important than being afraid. A coda, of sorts, to “Meat.” Ianto’s back story is Jossed by “Fragments” but that doesn’t diminish this story in the slightest.

sga: No Take-Backs by verdigrist (McKay/Sheppard, NC-17)

“I’m sorry.” Rodney takes a shuddering breath and then the words start spilling out: “God, John, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to do that. It was just a spur of the moment thing. Everything going right at the last minute like that was just such a relief, you know? We were going to live, and you were there. I mean, it could have been anyone. Zelenka, or, god, Sam, and I just…” He rubs a hand over his face, pressing his palm to one eye. “It won’t happen again.”

A wonderful, “second time’s the charm” story where John is brave and they’re both pretty darn eager.
